ARTIST Rosalie Laxton

Rosalie is a second generation artist.  Her mother, Dorothy Disney Haslett, enjoyed God's given talent and her uncle Granville Hollenbeck also enjoyed being an artist.

Rosalie's dream was to be an artist, but it turned out to be her third career.  Yet, her life's dream has finally been realized.  When Rosalie retired from her other careers, she attended workshops with a furor.  Among her instructors were Richard Weers, C. Shadrock, Mary Hetherington, Doug Prine, Ann Templeton, Betty Mathis, Angie Banta Brown, and Mary Beth Gibson.

Versatile and working in many styles and media to include oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and ink, Rosalie is known for her contemporary Southwest art--western still life, native peoples, San Antonio scenes.

Her paintings are in private collections across the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, and France.
