Richard is a self-taught photographer and portrait artist in pastel and charcoal. His wildflower photography brings the viewer nose to nose with the intricate details and the dazzling colors of the wildflowers of Texas. His photography provides a front row seat, a vantage point like none other, to the spectacular beauty showered upon us every spring in Texas.
His interest in portrait art caught fire in 1999 after a 25 year hiatus from art. Looking for subject matter for his art, he stumbled into sketching faces. His passion for portrait art has produced the realization that every face is worth a portrait. In the past two years, three of Richard's portraits have won first place ribbons at shows sponsored by the Medina Valley Art Society. And, a portrait entry in 2003 has been selected for KLRN's "Studio 9 Collection." Richard welcomes portrait commissions.
