ARTIST Marjorie McFarland

Marjorie has lived in San Antonio since 1971. From her early years on, Marjorie has traveled much of the United States and Europe. She began her art in high school and has a BA in biology and liberal arts from Grinnell College in Iowa. In San Antonio she studied drawing, watercolor, and pen and ink under Warren Hunter, 1976 through 1993, and with Brad Braune.

Marjorie's love for nature, people and life are captured in her paintings and drawings of birds, wildlife, flowers, landscapes, still life and people as character studies. Marjorie focuses on bringing out the "personality" and beauty of each subject through light and color. She continues her studies at the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts with the Hunter Art Group and has been a member of the River Art Group since 1984. Her works may be seen in the River Art Group Gallery in La Villita.
