John is a native Texan who discovered watercolor at Texas Tech University. Studies included drawing, painting, sculpture and architectural renderings in all mediums. During his career, he worked with several firms in New Mexico and Texas, including eight years as principal partner and owner of a private architectural practice.
He was with the Air Force civil service from 1984 to 2003.
He has held professional architectural licensing in New Mexico and Texas. While devoting most of his time to business development, design, architectural drawings and renderings, John always found time for his passion for watercolor. A former member of Cloudcroft Art Society, he exhibited work in Cloudcroft and Santa Fe, New Mexico, and in San Antonio, Randolph AFB, New Braunfels and Ft. Worth, Texas.
He has artwork in corporate and private collections in Texas, New Mexico and across the United States. Awards include merit award in Ft. Worth District Corps of Engineers sponsored art exhibition and second place prize in watercolor in the 56th annual River Art Group October Show.
John recently retired from active architectural practice and is very excited
about a second career in water media art. Original watercolor
paintings and archival quality giclee' reproductions are available
for many of his works.
