Dick is a San Antonio native who gravitated into photography as an avocation
during and after careers in radio broadcasting and service as Assistant City
Clerk in the Alamo City. Early training as a studio photographer sparked his
interest in the camera and its possibilities; that interest has evolved into
a wide-ranging portfolio of subject matter from traditional Texana to New Mexico
missions, close-ups of bees to bluebonnets to butterflies, and Wyoming mountain
majesty to Texas shoreline scenes, flora and fauna.
A relatively new member of the River Art Group and currently on its Board of Directors,
his photographs adorn walls from California to New York. One series of photographs
involving Texas scenes and wildlife is a part of the collection of Frost National
Bank in San Antonio. Dick's professional recognition includes several awards from
the annual River Art Group Show and Competition.
