A native Texan who moved to San Antonio in the '70's, Bettie frequented the Riverwalk and many of the galleries, where her interest in art was piqued. Since that time, she has studied with some of the foremost artists in the world , including George
Pinca, Warren Hunter and Finis Collins. She has participated in workshops with Frederic
Taubes, Zoltan Szabo, Edgar Whitney, Lee Parkinson, Danny Gamble and Terry Madden.
Bettie began her career by painting with oils and gradually gravitated toward watercolors. Her subjects range from Texana to hummingbirds to barns and windmills to vibrant
florals.
A long-time member of the River Art Group, Bettie is also a member in good standing with the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts. Her paintings can be found in collections throughout the world.
