From raising Pembroke Welsh Corgis and AQHA World
Champion Quarter Horses – palominos and buckskins - to one-of-a-kind
creations with glass, photography, Swarvoski crystals, gemstones
and wire, Betty Munie makes dreams come true.
While living in Belleville, Illinois in 1968, Betty received
her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from SIU. In 1982,
Betty earned her Masters Degree in Education as a Reading Specialist
at Texas State University.
Betty joined the River Arts Group in August 2007 when her jewelry
was juried in. Her unique designs create custom pieces using
a variety of methods. Each creation is a distinctive design
using various techniques such as: wire-wrapping, lampworking,
stained glass, fused glass, chain maille and beaded creations
using semi-precious stones, precious stones and crystals.
Betty has been chosen as the New Braunfels Art League Artist
of the Month in October 2005 and again in February 2008. Betty’s
accomplishments include four consecutive wins at Gallery shows
in New Braunfels for June, July, August and September 2007 and
participation in San Antonio’s Luminaria in 2008.
